Wow...that's uncomfortable!

I'm eating my normal breakfast, scrambled eggs with cheese. Sitting at my desk, shoveling eggs into my pie hole, reading email, not paying attention and then...WHOA! What's that? That's not right? OUCH! OUCH! OUCH! BURNING! BURNING!!! Gonna barf! GONNA BARF!! Sip some water. Still gonna barf. I look down...Oh boy, I've eaten a lot! I wasn't paying any attention to my chewing or the size of bites. I'm guessing that I got stuck! Actually stuck on scrambled eggs! Stand up! Stretch. Pace around my cubical. Spit into the garbage can. Sit down. Take a deep breath....RELAX. RELAX RELAX!!!! Egg passes. AHHHHH.....Sip of water. I feel it go thru. One more small bite of eggs, it makes it through and I tossed the rest.
So I stepped on the scale this morning! STUPID STUPID STUPID!!! I had a Shamrock Shake yesterday. I paid today. I'm at 240 this morning! I gained a pound between my period and eating the stupid Shamrock shake. I'm hoping this pound drops off! So I gained a pound but my pants are loser than last week. What's with that? My bras are getting too big too. I have big girls so I don't mind losing a tad in the ta ta area. So the scale moves up and the pants fall down? I don't get it but the scale is just a number but the way I feel is the true test. Even with this cold that won't go away, I feel super fantastic about how my close fit!

  2. Well, the way you feel is the true test. there are so many factors that affect the scale number, so it isn't ALWAYS the best test. But, most of it still THINK of it as the best test of how we are doing, huh?? It is hard not to! I am glad you are feeling better and hopefully you will learn quickly what you can and can't do, so you have less uncomfortable throwing up sessions. :)

  3. I notice it more in how my clothing fit too as opposed to what Mr. Scale tells me. Keep up the great work!

  4. I looked up nutritional info for Shamrock Shake. This is not from McDonald's website, but I found 2 places that gave this info for a small shake. 530 calories, 77g sugar, 13g fat, 340g sodium, 94g carbs, 0 fiber, 11g protien. While it's not great, don't beat yourself up thinking you gained a pound from it. More than likely your period is to blame. I'm betting you'll lose it soon.

  5. Shamrock shakes are delish...fortunately they are only available a short time. :) I'm not banded yet, but I can relate to the scale -vs- how you feel situation. I have pretty much allowed myself to eat whatever I wanted since I started looking into weight loss surgery in October. I only gained two pounds, but I FEEL like I have gained 20. I couldn't believe it was only two after trying to be so disciplined all these years. Anyways... even though the weight gain has been small, I FEEL like I have gained more than 10 lbs. I'm bloated, more tired, clothes are tighter. I think the scale is only part of the picture, but we sure give the scale a lot of credit. Keep up the great work! I have enjoyed reading your blog! I get banded March 30th.
